The Client: The Government of Nunavut
The Government of Nunavut provides a wide range of services tailored to the unique needs of approximately 29,500 residents.
The Challenge: The Department of Education were using a dated client management system which resulted in less than adequate delivery of services to their client base and inefficient tracking of program funding information.
The Core Solution: The CoreSolutions team assisted in designing an improved process and data flow that follows a client through the system while eliminating duplication of client data. The new software program implemented a consistent and easy to use interface with access to the system from remote communities. In addition it introduced efficient data export procedures and comprehensive reporting tools.
The Impact: The CoreSolutions team provided a software program that standardized delivery of CDCS (Career Development Client Services) Programs for the territory. Career Development Officers now have a system that guides them through the process and helps them to provide more effective career counseling and case management. The new software solution increases efficiency of data interchange between HRDC and the Nunavut Department of Education. Overall, by streamlining processes, data entry, access to information and providing numerous global and summary reports the new software has improved day to day operations and increased the level of service for clients.

The Client: The Ontario Community Newspaper Association (OCNA)
The OCNA is a non-profit industry association comprising of more than 300 member newspapers located throughout Ontario.
The Challenge: The OCNA was working with a Classified Ad Management System that no longer met their requirements. In addition, the system was unsupported as the original developer was no longer in business.
The Core Solution: Our team assessed the needs of the OCNA and developed a state of the art software solution that allows them to correspond effectively with their membership and contact base. The new software solution accommodates specific Classified Ads the previous software could not support. The system also introduces new efficiencies by eliminating double data entry as it integrates with their existing accounting software.
The Impact: The new software solution has made a very positive impact on OCNA’s daily business operations. They can now track and create reports on more information than with the previous software system. The OCNA now benefit from an enhanced workflow by eliminating the need for double data entry into multiple software systems, a centralized area for the storage of important data files and an improved functionality with an easy-to-use interface. The new system encompasses all of their requirements and actually saves them time allowing them to focus their effort on serving their members and providing increased customer service.

The Client: OSAD Inc.
OSAD Inc. and its contracted technicians form the largest mobile drug detection and biological specimen collection group in Canada.
The Challenge: OSAD Inc. was using an Access 2007 database to record and track all data related to their business and to handle their invoicing. The system did not meet their needs and in addition OSAD Inc. wanted to give access to their outside Customer Reps and Contractors so they could enter and view field work data which their current database did not have the ability to do. Their current system was so inefficient that it took OSAD staff two weeks out of every month to complete their invoicing. The CoreSolutions team identified where the issues were and proposed a new software program developed to remedy their current issues as well as accommodate their requirements for outside Customer Reps and Contractors.
The Core Solution: The CoreSolutions team developed a Web based application allowing OSAD staff and outside Customer Reps and Contractors to have safe and secure access to enter data in a much easier and more consistent manner. This alleviated the need for OSAD staff to enter the field work data as outside Customer Reps and Contractors now had access to the database from the field. The CoreSolutions team also solved a major issue in regards to their invoicing procedures. The new Web application has a sophisticated yet easy to use invoicing system that met all of OSAD’s requirements. OSAD indicated their new Web application works so well, their invoicing now only takes two days out of the month to complete allowing staff to give more attention to their customers.
The Impact: The Web application the CoreSolutions team designed and built has cut their time spent on invoicing and repetitive data entry by 70%. The new system allows OSAD Inc. staff to spend more time on customer service. It also saves them time and money and eliminates the many headaches they used to experience using a system that did not meet their requirements.
